Purpose
The Key Account Manager is responsible for managing and developing strategic relationships with key accounts to drive sales growth and enhance market presence for Plasencia Cigars. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and capitalize on sell-out opportunities that align with the brand’s positioning and goals.
Target
The primary target is to achieve sales objectives with key accounts, increase brand visibility, and ensure effective execution of promotional activities to drive sales and market share growth.
Performance Measurement
- Sales Achievement: Attainment of quarterly and annual sales targets for key accounts.
- Account Penetration: Expansion of product offerings within existing accounts.
- Promotional Effectiveness: Assessment of promotional activity outcomes through data analysis and feedback.
- Relationship Management: Strength of relationships with key account stakeholders and ability to leverage those for mutual benefit.
- Market Expansion: Success in opening new accounts or channels within the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key account stakeholders to identify business opportunities and drive sales growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams (e.g., marketing, logistics, product development) to ensure the alignment of strategies and maximize sales potential with key accounts.
- Promotional Activities: Plan and execute promotional activities, monitor their effectiveness, and provide feedback to improve future initiatives.
- Data Analysis: Follow up with key accounts to collect data, analyze sales trends, and evaluate the success of promotional activities.
- Sales Support: Assist the Sales Director in achieving sales targets by implementing effective account management strategies and providing insights on account performance.
- Market Analysis: Monitor market trends and competitors’ activities to identify new opportunities for growth and maintain a competitive edge.

- Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate terms and agreements that are beneficial for both the company and the account.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges and develop innovative solutions.

Required Level of Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
Professional Experience
- 5+ years of experience in sales and account management, with a focus on luxury or premium products.
- Experience in the cigar industry is preferred but not required.
