Purpose

The Territory Manager is responsible for maximizing sales within a designated territory through a deep understanding of customer needs and market dynamics. This role involves managing relationships with retailers, driving sales growth, and ensuring that the Plasencia brand is represented with the highest standards, in line with our core values of quality, innovation, and responsibility.

Target

The primary target is to achieve and exceed sales goals within the territory, build strong customer relationships, and expand the market presence of Plasencia Cigars. This role also aims to inspire and motivate retailers to be passionate about Plasencia products, ultimately increasing customer loyalty and market share while upholding the company’s focus on resilience, teamwork, and humility.

Performance Measurement

  • Sales Growth: Achievement of sales targets and growth within the assigned territory. 
  • Customer Satisfaction: High levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty within the territory. 
  • Market Penetration: Expansion of product availability and brand presence in the territory. 
  • Promotional Success: Effectiveness of promotions and sales strategies as measured by data and feedback. 
  • Relationship Management: Strong, positive relationships with retailers and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Territory Management: Develop and execute a strategic plan for the territory to maximize sales and market share while maintaining a focus on quality and innovation in all efforts.  
  • Retailer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers, providing expert advice and support to help them succeed, embodying teamwork and responsibility in every interaction.  
  • Sales Strategy Implementation: Implement and adapt sales strategies based on market trends, customer feedback, and company goals, always prioritizing focus—doing it right or not at all.  
  • Promotional Activities: Organize and participate in promotional events, tastings, and other activities to boost brand awareness and sales, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation. 
  • Market Analysis: Continuously monitor market conditions, competitor activities, and customer preferences to adjust strategies accordingly, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in the face of change.  
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback to the Sales Director, fostering a culture of openness and learning through humility.

  • Sales Expertise: Extensive experience in sales, particularly in the premium cigar or luxury goods industry.

Required Level of Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.

Professional Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, with a focus on premium products or luxury goods.  
  • Experience in the cigar industry is highly preferred.
