Are you a sales leader who still loves to sell?
Mathand, Inc. is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to lead, coach, and grow its sales team while remaining actively involved in winning new business and developing key customer relationships.
This is a true player-coach opportunity. You won’t be managing from the sidelines — you’ll lead both the inside and outside sales teams while continuing to sell, develop opportunities, meet with customers, and directly contribute to revenue growth.
If you’re an experienced consultative B2B sales professional who enjoys developing people, building long-term customer relationships, and selling solutions where technical understanding and commercial thinking matter, this could be an exciting next step.
About Mathand
Mathand, Inc. is a dynamic and innovative product company specializing in cutting-edge solutions for businesses. Harnessing over 40 years of industry expertise, our adept design team excels in crafting innovative pallet rack and pick systems. We specialize in tailoring custom configurations to maximize warehouse space efficiency, ensuring optimal utilization tailored to our customers specific needs.
As Sales Manager, you’ll work closely not only with customers and the sales team, but also with engineering, estimating, project management, vendors, subcontractors, and accounting to help take opportunities from initial conversation through contract award and successful project handoff.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be responsible for driving sales performance across the business while building a strong, accountable sales team.
You will:
Sell and lead — actively develop new business and sell alongside the outside sales team while leading the wider sales function.
Coach and develop inside and outside sales professionals across prospecting, discovery, solution development, proposals, and closing.
Set clear sales goals, activity expectations, priorities, and accountability.
Build and manage a healthy pipeline and maintain accurate revenue, booking, backlog, and gross-margin forecasts.
Identify new business through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, industry events, and expansion within existing accounts.
Lead customer discovery conversations, site visits, needs analysis, and solution development.
Deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and solution reviews.
Build strong, long-term relationships with customer decision-makers.
Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop sales team members as the organization grows.
Work closely with Project Management to ensure opportunities transition smoothly from sale to delivery.
Monitor sales performance, conversion rates, margins, and market conditions to identify opportunities for continued growth and improvement.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll ideally bring:
5+ years of successful consultative B2B sales experience
2+ years of successful sales leadership experience, including coaching sales professionals and holding a team accountable for results

Strong new-business development and relationship-building skills
Strong negotiation, presentation, problem-solving, and communication skills
The ability to understand technical and commercially complex solutions
Confidence managing multiple opportunities and priorities in a fast-paced sales environment
Strong ownership, follow-through, integrity, and attention to detail
The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments
The ability to travel to customer sites, project locations, and industry events as required.
Even Better If You Have
Experience within material handling or a related technical/solutions-based sales environment would be particularly valuable.
