Job description
This position directs all sales activity within a market, producing between $100+ million dollars in sales. The Sales Manager reports to the General Manager for the Division. The Sales Manager is likely to have between 3 and 6 direct report Account Managers and Business Development Managers. The Sales Manager is responsible for team development and the ultimate accomplishment of growth, retention, and program implementation. The Sales Manager is responsible for team design, team member performance, Employee Net Promoter scores, and the territory’s Customer Net Promoter Score.
SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES & DELIVERABLES
Complete annual business plan and budget that includes individual targets and plans for each Territory Manager
Assist in courting and closing major accounts
Develop weekly scorecard for individual team member performance
Develop weekly scorecard for territory performance
Attain monthly volume and gross profit targets that result in accomplishing annual target
Direct team efforts to manage customer margins and gross profit
Work closely with oil company representatives and vendors to maintain excellent working relationships
Direct new business sales efforts that ensure that volume and gross profit growth targets are consistently obtained
Groom sales team members to a level of sales proficiency with minimal sales management guidance and/or for future opportunities within the company utilizing a combination of joint sales calls, coaching calls, sales led calls, training and other development opportunities
Perform weekly 1:1 meetings with each team member following up on weekly, quarterly, and annual priorities
Perform regular team member development
Manage strategic relationships with key customers and key customer groups
Conduct weekly and monthly sales huddle and annual strategic planning process

Provide role and goal clarity to each team member and support them in achievement of their goals

Job requirements
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS Degree in Business and/or at least 5 years industry experience. Professional degree preferred
Proven track record of sales management success
Excellent computer skills
Demonstrated success in building effective teams
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS
Remote with occasional office responsibilities
Regularly required to stand, walk, sit for long period of times, talk and hear
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, with the ability to reach with hands and arms.
